Maidenhead Church

This Church in the centre of Maidenhead underwent a large extension to cater for the many events it hosts and community groups which use its facilities. My brief was to design the Main Hall and provide a clean, bright space with an adaptable lighting scheme for the various services it holds. Old wall panelling was removed and the damp behind it was treated to prevent it reoccurring and new, elegant panelling installed around the room. A practical 100% polypropylene carpet was laid to withstand heavy use and compliment the colour of the existing chairs. We installed a new lighting system with large pendants for overall lighting, and LED strips fitted on the top side of the beams to provide gentle

up-lighting for when a more intimate or contemplative atmosphere was required. A local carpenter was commissioned to build the new Oak doors which echoed the Gothic shape of the windows. The pendant in the Porch was from Cox & Cox.
